Recently, reporter knew that from “2015 Annual Meeting of Global Wire & Cable Enterprises” held in Yixing of Jiangsu, as an important part of national economy, wire & cable industry had shifted into the growth period with medium and low speed from original rapid growth period, and was faced with “dual challenge”, namely, economic transition and economic structural adjustment.
Yixing was one of the production bases of four main cable industries throughout the country, with over 200 cable manufacturers, and was the first pillar industry throughout the whole city. In spite of early start, rapid development, industrial cluster of Yixing’s cable industry, it developed some advantages and status in participation of market competition. However, because of those factors such as weak innovation capability of cable enterprise, serious homogenization of products, and rising of raw materials, unfair competition in market, the whole industry was in mid-and-low end with lack of endurance of development.
In recent years, Yixing has specially issued relevant policy to clearly encourage and support cable enterprise to focus on making itself bigger and stronger, speed up the introduction of scientific and technological talents, promote enterprise ' s merger and reorganization, accelerate company to seek financing by listing on the stock market, energetically exploit overseas market. Meanwhile, it has led cable enterprises to pay high attention to brand quality, innovated corporate management mode, strengthened standard management of enterprise, and intensified cooperation and division of labor, made them actively extend towards both ends of value chain, take active participation in building, extending, supplement of chain, in order to promote and consolidate industrial position with complete cable industrial chain.
After several continuous rounds of structural adjustment, at present, the whole city has formed industrial cluster led by Far East Holding Group, and the whole industry has entered into mid-and-high end. “Currently, our city takes promoting cable industry to upgrade development as main direction, seizes market opportunity actively, integrates industrial resources positively, continues to deepen strategic cooperation, spares no effort to promote enterprise’s management efficiency, optimizes industrial development quality and status, and the cable industry has been in development track of innovation leading, transformation acceleration.” The Municipal Party Secretary of Yixing Wang Zhongsu said.
By report, although the cable industry in our country had new development, especially having shifted from rapid growth period to growth period with mid-and-low speed, those problems such as surplus productivity, lack of innovative talents, product homogeneity, cutthroat competition from aspect of the whole industry, hadn’t been solved thoroughly, which influenced the healthy sustainable development of industry seriously. Especially under “new normal” of economy, the whole cable industry was still faced with the “dual challenge” of economic restructure and economic structural adjustment.
This annual meeting lasted for 3 days, over 500 people of leaders from the related department of governments, experts from scientific research institutions, entrepreneurs and so on, carried out systematic and in-depth communication and discussion on those topics concerned by numerous industries, such as opportunity and development of private economy under new situation of “One Belt & One Road”, innovation and upgrade of cable industry under ideological trend of “Internet Plus”, overseas investment environment analysis and internationalization strategy of manufacturing enterprises, and further pushed the healthy sustainable development of cable industry.
