Yingli Group Launched the World’s Most Advanced High Efficient Cell, with Comprehensive Power Generation Efficiency Being 24%

    The reporter learned from the Third Technological Innovation Exposition of Yingli Group that Yingli Group has launched a new generation of PANDA N-type efficient monocrystalline cell based on the ion implantation technique and bifacial double glass modules (TwinMAX Bifacial series products), realizing the most advanced comprehensive power generation efficiency of 24.6% in the world. At present, the series products have passed the most rigorous reliability test and have been put into large-scale mass production. Yingli Group plans to complete the upgrading of the ion implantation technique for the existing 800MW Panda cell production line through the innovative business mode in the next one to two years.

    Based on the upgrading of mass production technology for the production line of first-generation efficient Panda N-type monocrystalline bifacial cell, the new generation of Panda efficient cell utilizes the ion implantation technique to improve the cell efficiency, with the front-face power generation efficiency being up to 21.5% and back-face power generation efficiency being over 95%, which are higher than that of the similar technologies. The TwinMAX photovoltaic modules (60 cells) produced with the new generation of Panda cells can allow the front-face generation power to be over 300W. If the optimized system is installed, the back face of the module can contribute up to 30% of the front-face power generation, the actual generation power is over 380W and the equivalent module efficiency is over 24%. It has been successfully applied to the first “leader” photovoltaic demonstration project in China (namely, National Advanced Technology Photovoltaic Demonstration Base 50MW Project in Coal-mining Subsidence Area, which is the largest project applying the efficient N-type monocrystalline double glass modules in the world.

    Compared with the conventional modules, TwinMAX Bifacial series products also have the unique advantages of bifacial power generation, good weak-light tolerance, good resistance to corrosion of corrosive gas (such as, salt mist and ammonia gas) and PID risk, superior durability, and 30-year linear warranty.

    It is said that the Panda N-type efficient solar cell independently researched and developed by Yingli Group is the integration of N-type bifacial cell technology and MWT metallic spiral wound cell technology. It makes up the blanks in N-type cell technology and has become one of the global top three high efficient solar cells, providing good demonstration for China’s photovoltaic industry to perform technological upgrading.
